The Foresta Timber Group is comprised of Foresta Drum Manufacturing and Foresta Timber and Board. What makes us unique is the fact that we are timber wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers of timber products.

OUR BACKGROUND

In 1994 Foresta Timber and Board opened its doors to the public and celebrated their 21st birthday in 2015. Customer convenience and competitive pricing paired with expert knowledge has been the driving force that has ensured  Foresta's  position as one of Gauteng's largest wholesalers of timber and related products. A wide variety of specialised machined products were added to the product mix  ‘Broadening the Horizons’ for Foresta’s customer base in terms of product choice. The D.I.Y factory shop and warehouse located in Alrode, Alberton provides timber and related products to trade, wholesale and D.I.Y Customers. In 2015 a new 45000 m2 site in Alrode Alberton was acquired to consolidate and streamline the warehousing and manufacturing component of Foresta, the current Foresta Timber and Board site will remain where it is and continue to service the DIY , trade and wholesale markets.

OUR CUSTOMERS

Their customer base of specialised customers such as Truck Bodies, Events Companies and Wendy House Manufacturers have grown steadily and the on-site Factory shop enjoys tremendous support from the D.I.Y market, as well as the smaller contractors. ‘Broadening the Horizons’

  • A Greener Approach

In keeping with the global trend towards ‘green’ and sustainable business practises the bulk of Foresta’s timber is purchased from FSC (Forest Stewarship Council) Certified suppliers which means these companies strive to balance commercial forestry interests with forest ecology and the well being of local people.

  • Eliminating Waste

Furthermore to optimise timber usage a specialised computerised machine was acquired for the machine shop which optimises ‘cut to size’ lengths from the timber. Defects in the timber are marked by the operator and are cut out by the machine and the remaining quality timber yield is maximised according to a pre-set cutting list which eliminates wastage.
